Regional facilities with both open skating and hockey rinks will be open from the beginning of Christmas vacation through mid-February, weather permitting. The following regional ice rinks will be maintained by Parks Division personnel:
- Cook Ice Arena, 11091 Mississippi Boulevard
- Delta Park, 11151 Yukon Street NW
- Moor Park, 10921 Magnolia Street NW
- Riverview Park, 2420 105th Avenue NW
- Sand Creek Park, 1008 Northdale Boulevard
- Thorpe Park, 2691 Carlson Drive
- Wintercrest Park, 10300 Woodcrest Drive

Coon Rapids offers many skating options within its park system. There are currently eleven regulation outdoor hockey rinks and six open skating rinks available at the above listed locations.

Rinks are maintained daily with a routine schedule of ice shaving, sweeping, snow removal, and flooding as weather conditions permit.
Sliding Hills
Coon Rapids maintains several sliding hill locations throughout the city, the most popular being Wintercrest Park. Other locations providing sliding opportunities include Sand Creek School, the North Water Tower facility, Rockslide Park, Thorpe Park, the Riverview Resevoir site located adjacent to the West Treament Plant, and smaller hills located in Marshland Park and Peppermint Stick Park.
